It’s a first for Romania to Have A Regional Representative in YCC Arbitrators Forum

Bucharest,11.04.2017 - The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF) has announced through a press release on April 6, 2017, the new regional representatives for its 2017-2019 mandate.

Dr. Cosmin Vasile, managing partner of Zamfirescu Racoti & Partners Attorneys at Law and arbitrator at the Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania will represent Romania in the Europe and Asia Chapter of ICC YAF, a global professional forum whose main purpose is the development of the arbitration practice and the promotion of the ICC arbitration rules, an efficient instrument for the resolution of the disputes deriving from complex contracts.

Drawing on ICC expertise, the forum ‘s educational programs and conferences offer an ideal environment for young practitioners to exchange views on international arbitration developments and to learn directly from some of the world’s leading experts in the field.

Besides Romania, Europe and Russia Chapter of ICC YAF includes countries like Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Russia, Spain, Switzerland and United Kingdom. The selection process for new representatives aimed to respect gender balance, diversity of backgrounds and jurisdictions, as well as a diverse range of law firms. The 2017-2019 mandate will reunite representatives from 40 countries and 53 cities.

The elected representatives are tasked with promotion and development of the dynamic global network of young arbitrator’s talent and will play a key role in elaborating and implementing educational programs – through training, conferences, and in developing the next generation of leading international arbitrators – training sessions and mentorship. Drawing on ICC expertise, the regional representatives will be actively involved in offering an ideal environment for young practitioners to exchange views on international arbitration developments and to learn directly from some of the world’s leading experts in the field.

With over 10,000 members worldwide, ICC YAF is the largest young arbitration practitioners’ association of its kind, reflecting ICC’s position as the world’s leading arbitral institution.
